On September 16, 2025, an international educational webinar entitled “Building Smart Health Systems: The Power of Informatics” was hosted by the National Public Health Management Center
In this event, Dr. Mahmoud Yousefi, President of the Center, emphasized the transformative role of education in the age of technology and highlighted the need to continuously update knowledge and skills in the health sector to keep pace with global developments
Following this, the keynote speaker, Dr. Leila Kalankesh, delivered a comprehensive presentation explaining the key concepts of smart health systems and the vital role of informatics. She stressed that a smart health system is not merely about adopting new technologies, but represents a comprehensive transformation in processes, culture, and the governance of health services
Dr. Kalankesh described informatics as the backbone of such systems, enabling real-time information flows across the continuum of healthcare by transforming data into actionable knowledge. She also explored the role of informatics in various areas of health, shared global success stories, and provided practical recommendations for implementing these systems. Her talk underscored the importance of achieving preventive, integrated, and equitable care
