Virtual Course of Health Systems Strengthening towards Universal Health Coverage and Health Security-Learnings from COVID-19 was held in Tabriz
This virtual course was held through Adobe Connect in collaboration with the World Health Organization at NPMC in Tabriz. Health system managers who were fluent in English as well as 24 international and 8 national professors attended in this training course which lasted 10 days. This is noteworthy that from 250 managers who enrolled in the course, around 65 trainees could ultimately obtain permission to attend
Among the guests of this training program were Dr. Iraj Haririchi, the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Christoph Hamelmann, Representative in Iran, Dr. Agnes Soucat, Health Director of WHO and former World Bank Managing Director, and Dr. Awad Mataria, Regional Adviser at the Eastern-Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) of the World Health Organization
According to the participants, this virtual course aimed at creating a vision and strategy for health system recovery by restoring resilient health systems, recognizing the relationship between health systems, strengthening the health system, and global health coverage and health security
Getting familiar with the expansion of global health coverage and improving the security of health systems, as well as acquaintance with various components of a health system while creating interaction to achieve the goals of the health system and evaluation of COVID-19 concepts in health systems and other social and economic areas, while examining the relationship between social and economic development and health improvement were the objectives of this training program
